The 3rd Annual Scottsboro Dragon Boat Race and Festival takes place Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Goose Pond Colony Marina and Resort on Lake Guntersville in Scottsboro, Alabama. Teams of 20 rowers plus a drummer and steerer race traditional 46-foot Hong Kong-style dragon boats over a 250-meter course, with an 8:30 a.m. opening ceremony and racing wrapping up around 4 p.m. The free-to-attend festival includes food trucks, music, and kids' activities, with proceeds benefiting Highlands Hospital Foundation and Nourish One Child.
