Dragon Boat Race 2026 (Wessex Cancer Support)

The Dragon Boat Race 2026 is a charity dragon boat event organised by Wessex Cancer Support at Island Harbour on the Isle of Wight. The event runs on Saturday 26 September 2026 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with participants asked to arrive at 12:00 pm and racing starting at 1:30 pm. Each team consists of ten paddlers and one drummer, with a recommended minimum of eight paddlers and a drummer, and the minimum age is 12. Teams race three qualifying heats over 200 metres, and the fastest crews go through to a Grand Final. Entry costs £360 per team (about £33 per person) with a sponsorship target of £1,100 per team, and no swimming ability is required. Registration is handled online through the charity's Enthuse page.
